Featured in this auction is a unique and impressive Meissen set. It is an allegorical description of an old angel surrounded by baby angels. This large and heavy set is estimated to have been produced in the 19th Century by the famous German porcelain manufacturer. The set has some minor losses, mainly a couple of fingers of the old angel, the trumpet of one of the young angels and the head of the peacock is broken, but can be reattached (I have these two broken parts); the left wing of two angels were broken but glued back (this is a clean break and can be restored professionally). The rest of the set is in good condition. This is a first class Meissen item fully marked at the bottom and with incised numbers. Please take a look at the pictures as they are an important part in the description of this item.
This item is 9” tall, 10” long and 8” wide. |
